Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu departed for the United States this morning, September 25th, to address the UN General Assembly and meet with President Donald Trump in Washington. Netanyahu stated his intention to "speak our truth" at the UN Assembly, condemning leaders who "want to give them a state in the heart of the Land of Israel" instead of condemning "murderers, rapists, and child burners." In Washington, he plans to discuss "great opportunities" and the need to "complete the goals of the war," including the return of all abductees and the defeat of Hamas. This will be Netanyahu's fourth meeting with President Trump. Netanyahu also extended wishes for a "good year" of "security, prosperity, and peace" to the citizens of Israel and the Jewish people. The visit comes in the wake of unspecified "victories" for Israel, including in 'Am Kalbi. Previous reports from the early hours of September 25th detailed a fatal shooting at a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Dallas, Texas, where two detainees were killed and one wounded between 3:06 AM and 3:36 AM UTC. The shooter died by suicide. Senator Elizabeth Warren condemned the violence on X. Additionally, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries condemned President Trump's administration's plans for federal worker layoffs announced via an OMB memo. President Trump had also reportedly convened meetings to manage public relations fallout from the Jeffrey Epstein crisis earlier in the day.
