Venezuelan Army S-125 “Pechora-2M” Surface-to-Air Missile Systems were observed on the Central Regional Highway near Maracay in Northern Venezuela yesterday, October 2nd, 2025. The deployment of these air defense systems was reported by X user @sentdefender. This sighting of the S-125 systems follows an announcement made earlier today, October 3rd, 2025, by Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro regarding a special organizational exercise for the nation's command and control structures. The exercise is aimed at strengthening defense mechanisms and is currently underway. U.S. Marines have also been conducting high-tempo operations in the Caribbean, loading munitions onto F-35B Lightning II fighter jets at NAS Roosevelt Roads in Puerto Rico throughout the reporting period on October 3rd, 2025. These operations, in support of SOUTHCOM's mission and Presidential priorities, demonstrate expeditionary capabilities in the region.
