Venezuelan opposition activist Agus Antonetti stated on X over the past 59 minutes to 7:45 a.m. UTC on Dec. 10, 2025, that María Corina Machado will not attend the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony in Oslo for security reasons, as she remains in hiding under persecution by the Maduro dictatorship. Antonetti posted: "For security reasons, the heroic Maria Corina Machado will not be able to attend the presentation of her Nobel Peace Prize. She remains in hiding under the persecution of the brutal Maduro dictatorship. There is a greater prize, the long-awaited freedom of the people of Venezuela." In another X post during the same period, Antonetti alerted Venezuelans in Oslo to Juan Albarrán, described as a link to Diosdado Cabello and one of the dictatorship's envoys currently in the city, accompanied by others, urging its dissemination. The announcement follows a statement earlier this morning by Kristian Berg Harpviken, head of the Nobel Institute, who told NRK that Machado would not attend the Oslo ceremony because she is not Norwegian, according to a report covering activity to 6:45 a.m. UTC.
