UNIFIL peacekeepers discovered a tunnel approximately 50 meters long and several unexploded ordnances near Al Qusayr in southern Lebanon, according to a statement from the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). The findings were handed over to the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) in coordination with them, in line with resolution 1701, UNIFIL stated. The report did not specify the exact date of the discovery, only referring to it as "during a recent operation." UNIFIL's statement did not attribute ownership of the tunnel. Information shared on social media platform X by user @no_itsmyturn suggested the tunnel belonged to the Hezbollah terrorist organization, though this was not confirmed by UNIFIL.
