Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister warned European states to be "cautious" and accused them of using the snapback of UN sanctions as a "pretext" for escalation, according to reports today. Iran's President also stated that the snapback "can't stop" the nation from building "far more important than Natanz," following a UN Security Council failure to adopt a draft resolution aimed at preventing the snapback of sanctions. The UN Security Council reportedly failed to adopt the draft resolution with four votes in favor, nine against, and two abstentions, as stated by Iran Nuances on September 20th. Iran's President remarked that "Last night they convened to snap back [sanctions]. Snapback cannot stop us." The President further added that while "They can hit Natanz & Fordow #nuclear sites, but they are oblivious to the fact that it is our people who build, & will continue to build, Natanz & things far more important than Natanz." These statements come after the al-Manar Channel broadcast a recording featuring Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and Radwan Force commander Ibrahim Aqil discussing military strategy against Israel. The recording, aired within the past hour according to a prior report, reportedly occurred during a military meeting in Beirut within the past year and outlines guidelines for confronting Israel, focusing on rules of engagement and operational directives for field commanders.
