The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has reportedly begun recalling approximately 700 Chinese-made vehicles, primarily the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro model, given to senior officers since 2022, due to security concerns over potential data collection by the cars' sensors and cameras. The recall, first reported today, November 2nd, affects lieutenant colonels and colonels with large families. The IDF has declined to comment on the reports. This development follows an earlier decision this year by the IDF to ban all Chinese cars from entering military bases, citing fears that their integrated technology could be exploited to gather sensitive information. Both the Calcalist financial paper and the Yisrael Hayom daily reported on the recall today. Prior to this period and as reported on November 2nd, regional tensions remained high with Iran stating it could produce an atomic bomb in two weeks, though it claimed no desire for nuclear weapons. Concurrently, Iran announced it had received a message from Washington regarding the resumption of negotiations. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had also intensified operations in southern Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah's logistical capabilities, including senior operatives responsible for logistics and weapons transfer in the Radwan force, specifically in the Nabatieh and Ramen regions.
