Most Iranian-flagged tankers began transmitting properly over AIS on October 14th, 2025, for the first time in seven and a half years, according to multiple AIS data providers. The shift in transmission, which started today, occurred for reasons that remain unknown. This development marks a significant change in maritime tracking, as Iranian tankers had previously been known to spoof their AIS signals. The sudden cessation of spoofing across a majority of these vessels was confirmed by two different AIS data providers within the reporting window. Separately, Lebanese President Joseph Otown stated on October 14th, 2025, that "We must bear and give the people of Israel.
