Hezbollah supporters reportedly reacted negatively to his statement. Patriarch Al-Ra'i indicated that Lebanon is currently living under the 1949 truce, and emphasized that peace with Israel could be considered to safeguard the nation's sovereignty and its military forces. The interview was broadcast on the al-Arabia channel, with a full episode available on YouTube. Meanwhile, in a separate development, Mehdi al-Kaabi, a leader of the al-Janba movement, warned on television that there is information suggesting Israel is attacking, and Iraq could be targeted imminently. Separately, Iran's navy conducted large-scale drills on Wednesday, test-firing various cruise missiles and hitting surface targets in the Gulf of Oman and northern Indian Ocean, according to state media reports.
