The head of the Israeli Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Ayat Zamir, ordered the Israeli military to increase its readiness to the highest level on Monday morning, October 6th, in anticipation of Eid Sukut. During a meeting assessment with members of the Israeli General Staff, Zamir emphasized that the army's primary focus by the end of the holiday will be on defense. He stated, "We are always ready for it, we are ready to defend and attack all the fronts. We continue our mission so that the Israeli people can celebrate Eid Sukut in peace and security." This directive comes amidst ongoing military activities, including a wave of attacks on Hezbollah's Radwan training camps that commenced around 10:34 AM UTC on October 6th. The Israeli Political-Security Cabinet indicated these strikes aim to disrupt Hezbollah's operational capabilities by targeting camps described as storing assets, following an earlier precision drone strike in Zibqin, southern Lebanon, that eliminated a Hezbollah operative and targeted a vehicle. The IDF had also stated earlier on Monday that it eliminated a key Hezbollah terrorist, Ali Jamil, involved in the organization's air defense efforts and procurement with Iran in the Nabatieh area.
