Two terrorists affiliated with Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) were killed by security forces in a remote area of Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir, on February 22, 2026, officials confirmed to PTI News during the reporting window from 7:15 AM to 10:15 AM UTC. The encounter concluded the operation that began earlier that morning. Indian Army's White Knight Corps, alongside Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF, had established contact with the terrorists in the Passerkut area between 5:15-6:45 AM UTC, as previously stated by @Whiteknight_IA on X. The firefight resulted in the elimination of the two JeM militants, according to the official PTI report posted at approximately 10:00 AM UTC. No security force casualties were reported in the joint operation, which involved multiple units tagged by @adgpi, @NorthernComd_IA, and @crpfindia. Troops had cordoned off the area during the ongoing exchange prior to the neutralization. Separately, Delhi Police Special Cell busted a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) module handled by Bangladesh-based handler Shabbir Ahmed Lone, arresting six suspects including Bangladeshi national Robil Ul Islam and Umar Farooq, as stated by Additional CP Pramod Kumar Kushwaha. The module pasted anti-India posters at Delhi and Kolkata metro stations on February 7 and 10, with plans for major incidents prevented, per ANI reports from the window. Investigations revealed Lone, a Ganderbal resident arrested in 2007 with AK-47 and grenades, reconnected with LeT after 2019 release and fled to Bangladesh. Suspects from Tamil Nadu possessed dozens of mobile phones and SIM cards, linked to Pakistan's ISI and Bangladeshi groups, according to Delhi Police.
