India will reopen its embassy in Kabul and upgrade ties with the Taliban government, announced External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, as reported by Shashank Singh. Since 2022, India has maintained a technical mission in Afghanistan. Separately, US Ambassador-designate to India, Sergio Gor, confirmed on October 11th, 2025, in Delhi that he held productive meetings with Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. Gor also met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss bilateral issues including defense, trade, technology, and critical minerals, expressing optimism for future US-India relations under the leadership of President Donald J. Trump and Prime Minister Modi. In Pakistan, Saad Rizvi of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) has reportedly instructed party workers to surround police officials, a situation described by Wajahat Kazmi as an "act of terrorism against the state."
