Pakistan has rejected multiple ceasefire requests from the Afghan Taliban following unprovoked firing on Pakistani posts and an attempt to facilitate TTP Khawarij formations crossing the border, according to a report on X. The situation in Muridke, Pakistan, is also escalating, with ongoing clashes between TLP protestors and security forces spiraling out of control, as reported on X. On the night of October 11-12, Taliban forces initiated firing on Pakistani posts and attempted to push TTP Khawarij formations into Pakistan. Pakistani forces responded with small arms, mortars, and artillery against positions sheltering the Khawarij. Despite four rejected ceasefire requests from the Afghan Taliban, including via Qatar and Saudi Arabia, Pakistan continued its operations. A fifth request on humanitarian grounds to collect bodies was partially accepted, with Pakistan warning of a full response to future Afghan incursions or terrorist acts originating from Afghanistan. Meanwhile, clashes in Muridke, Pakistan, between TLP protestors and security forces are intensifying, with the situation described as "spiralling out of control." This follows earlier reports of the detention of TLP chief Saad Rizvi and his brother in Muridke, where internet services were disrupted and the area was reportedly cleared of protesters by 8:35 AM UTC on October 13th, 2025. Earlier this morning, Taliban militants were observed transporting missiles to the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, coinciding with reports of bombings in Kabul and domestic unrest in Pakistan. Elements of Pakistan's Frontier Corps (FC) have also been observed operating inside Afghanistan's Kandahar province, targeting Afghan Taliban positions. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, this morning for a Gaza peace plan signing ceremony attended by U.S. President Donald Trump, where Pakistan also dispatched 100 tons of humanitarian aid to Gaza. Previous reports also detailed significant domestic unrest in Pakistan, including violent protests by Tehrik-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) supporters in Muridke and the detention of TLP chief Saad Rizvi and his brother.
