The Hafiz Gul Bahadur group has been identified as responsible for the deaths of numerous Pakistani troops this year. The strikes in Kabul and Kandahar on October 15th, 2025, had previously been reported by Taliban and hospital sources to have caused significant casualties. Earlier, on October 15th, 2025, Pakistani soldiers released a video from a captured border post, displaying U.S.-made M4A1 carbines. This emerged as Balochistan tribes pledged support to the Pakistani army against terrorism emanating from the Afghan Taliban, including readiness for sacrifices. Pakistan had also issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Afghanistan on October 15th, 2025, with footage showing Zarrar tanks moving towards the Chaman border.
