At the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney will undertake an official visit to India from February 27 to 2 March 2026, arriving in Mumbai on February 27, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). This marks Carney’s first official visit to India, during which he will engage in business meetings over the next two days. Prime Minister Carney will interact with Indian and Canadian CEOs, industry and financial experts, innovators, educators, and Canadian Pension Funds based in India, as stated by the MEA in an announcement shared by ANI on February 26. In a separate development at Hyderabad Airport, four K9 heroes—Labradors Dolly and Snoopy, Cocker Spaniel Binny, and German Shepherd Sweety—were honored in a retirement ceremony by the CISF Unit, according to a CISF post. The event, attended by Sr. Commandant Shri Manjit Singh and GMR Security's Shri Rakesh Sharma, recognized their service in safeguarding passengers and strengthening aviation security.
