Pakistan has ordered the immediate liquidation and evacuation of twenty-eight Afghan refugee camps across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, with all refugees slated for deportation back to Afghanistan. This directive comes as unconfirmed reports indicate Pakistani military activity within Afghan territory in the Kunar province. Over the past hour, multiple social media accounts have reported Pakistani attacks in the Gulapari area of Sarkano district in Kunar, Afghanistan. These reports, originating from sources like @MCIAZayyan and @Natsecjeff, suggest cross-border military action. Separately, the Government of Pakistan, through an announcement on X (formerly Twitter) by @OSPSF, detailed the order for the immediate liquidation and evacuation of 28 Afghan refugee camps in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Simultaneously, there are reports from locals in Mamond Tehsil, Pakistan, indicating movement of the Pakistani Taliban (TTP) from various areas including Cheenagai, Almazo, Shahi Tangi, Shakro, and Loi Kharki. These groups were reportedly seen in Charmang this morning after voluntarily vacating areas as demanded by locals. These developments follow diplomatic discussions held this morning, October 16th, 2025, in Jakarta, where Afghan Ambassador Mawlawi Saadullah Baloch met with Indian Ambassador Sandeep Chakravorty to discuss bilateral relations. Previous reports from October 16th, 2025, had also mentioned claims from Taliban sources that Pakistan had negatively influenced former US envoy Zalmay Khalilzad regarding the recognition of the Taliban regime, suggesting an "anti-Taliban" agenda by Pakistan using the TTP as a pretext. The Pakistani military had previously denied targeting Afghan official Abdul Haq Wasiq in its strikes.
