Pakistan's Security Forces thwarted an infiltration attempt by the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) from Afghanistan into the Momand area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, resulting in the deaths of approximately 45-50 TTP terrorists. This incident occurred on October 16th, 2025, during an existing ceasefire requested by the Taliban regime, according to an announcement from @AnasMallick on X. Separately, an Afghan Freedom Front (AFF) operative reportedly assassinated a Taliban commander named Qari Khalid in the Angurbagh area of Kunduz province on Wednesday, October 15th, 2025, at around 9:38 PM local time, as stated by @Natsecjeff on X. The commander was allegedly en route from the army corps to the Chahar Dara district when the attack took place. These events follow Pakistan's earlier order on October 16th, 2025, for the immediate evacuation and deportation of refugees from twenty-eight Afghan refugee camps in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. This directive coincided with unconfirmed reports of Pakistani military activity in Afghanistan's Kunar province, specifically in the Gulapari area of Sarkano district, and observed movements of the Pakistani Taliban (TTP) from various areas within Mamond Tehsil to Charmang this morning. Previous reports from October 16th, 2025, also detailed alleged negotiations between a Pakistani Army Chief representative and Mossad in Jordan concerning the recognition of Israel, and claims from Taliban sources that Pakistan had influenced former US envoy Zalmay Khalilzad against recognizing the Taliban regime. Diplomatic discussions between Afghanistan's Ambassador Mawlawi Saadullah Baloch and India's Ambassador Sandeep Chakravorty were also held in Jakarta on October 16th, 2025.
