Oslo police detained two Singaporean tourists at Akershus Fortress on Monday night following an explosion in Pilestredet, during which a second grenade was safely detonated by authorities between 7:40 PM and 7:59 PM UTC on September 23rd, 2025. A 13-year-old was also arrested in connection with the incident. Authorities confirmed that two grenades were present at the scene in Pilestredet, with one having detonated. Between 7:40 PM and 7:59 PM UTC, police successfully detonated the second device, having previously asked the public to move away from barriers in the area. The arrested tourists' drone is being held for technical study. This incident in Oslo follows earlier reports of drone activity disrupting Copenhagen Airport on September 23rd, 2025, which led to flight cancellations and diversions. Danish authorities are investigating potential links between the Copenhagen drone incidents and activities in Norway. Previous reports indicated that Danish police were investigating three vessels potentially involved, including the Russian cargo ship Astrol 1, the Benin-flagged tanker Pushpa, and the Norwegian cargo ship Oslo Carrier 3, with a civilian aircraft, OY-CDT, also being examined. Swedish residents also reported sighting a large drone over Malmö, Sweden, around 5:00 PM UTC on September 23rd, 2025, prompting them to contact police. Investigations are ongoing into whether the drone activity in Malmö is connected to the incidents in Denmark and Norway. Denmark and Norway are cooperating to determine if incidents in Oslo and Copenhagen are connected. A video has also emerged showing the Russian Navy launching and retrieving an Orlan-10 UAV from a ship, demonstrating a system easily installed and removed from vessels.
