A U.S. Air Force E-3 AWACS aircraft, designated CACHE 51, departed Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska this evening to track and monitor unidentified aircraft operating near the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ). The E-3 AWACS was joined by a KC-135R Stratotanker from Eielson Air Force Base and an unknown number of fighter jets. The deployment is reportedly in response to potential Russian aircraft activity in the region, with the last confirmed ADIZ intrusion by a Russian Il-20M occurring on August 26. This development follows Danish police concluding an operation concerning unidentified drones at Aalborg Airport earlier this morning, with air traffic resuming. The Danish investigation into the drones and their operators is ongoing, according to Nexus OSINT. Danish authorities had previously stated there was no evidence to suggest the drones were private or commercial. Previous reports indicated widespread drone activity across four airports in Jutland, Denmark, including Aalborg, Esbjerg, Sønderborg, and Skrydstrup, prompting the deployment of NATO F-16 jets and Royal Danish Air Force helicopters. The Russian-flagged vessel 'Astrol 1' has been under suspicion in relation to earlier drone flights.
