Danish police have closed several airports across Jutland, including Aalborg Airport, after unidentified drones were observed in their airspace over the past hour, beginning around 6:34 AM UTC on September 25th. The drones were sighted over multiple military installations, some of which house F-16, F-35, and C-130 Hercules aircraft. National Police Chief Thorkild Fogde stated this morning that "It is always serious when there are unidentifiable objects over military installations," according to previous reports. Police have been unable to trace the operators of these drones. Air traffic at Aalborg Airport had resumed earlier this morning after a prior closure, but has since been re-imposed due to the ongoing drone activity. Sky News reported that the disruption is affecting both commercial and military flights. The specific timing of the latest drone sightings is not yet confirmed, but they occurred during the reporting window. The investigation into the drones and their operators is ongoing, with authorities previously stating there was no evidence to suggest the drones were private or commercial, according to Nexus OSINT. This situation in Denmark follows a U.S. Air Force E-3 AWACS aircraft's deployment yesterday from Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska to monitor unidentified aircraft near the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ). The AWACS was supported by a KC-135R Stratotanker and fighter jets.
