Danish authorities are investigating three vessels suspected of launching the drone that disrupted operations at Copenhagen Airport on September 23rd, 2025, causing 150 flights to be cancelled or diverted. State TV channel TV2 reported that the sanctioned Russian cargo ship Astrol 1, the tanker Pushpa sailing under a Benin flag and sanctioned for transporting Russian oil, and the Norwegian cargo ship Oslo Carrier 3, which was near the airport during the drone pursuit, are all considered suspicious. The Astrol 1 reportedly made several irregular maneuvers while sailing through the Öresund Strait on Monday. The Pushpa was monitored for four hours by a German NATO ship. The Oslo Carrier 3 had several Russian-speaking crew members, and its owner also has offices in Kaliningrad. Police are investigating drone sightings reported in Malmö and outside Lund during the night until Tuesday, according to P4 Malmöhus. These developments follow disruptions at Oslo Airport, which reopened after similar drone observations. Copenhagen Airport resumed normal operations at 7:00 AM UTC on September 23rd, 2025, after the unidentified drone activity between 6:05 AM and 7:05 AM UTC. Danish police suspect a "capable actor" is behind the incidents, with preliminary findings suggesting the drones may have originated from a vessel at sea and arrived from multiple directions and considerable distances. Danish Minister of Defence Troels Lund Poulsen described the activity as "deeply serious and worrying."
