On September 24, 2025, the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) detected and tracked two Tu-95s and two Su-35s operating within the Alaskan Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ), prompting a response from NORAD. NORAD deployed an E-3 airborne early warning and control aircraft, four F-16 fighter jets, and four KC-135 tanker aircraft to positively identify and intercept the Russian aircraft in the Alaskan ADIZ, according to a statement from NORAD. This incident occurs as Danish authorities continue to investigate unidentified drone activity over military sites and airports in Jutland, including Aalborg Airport, which has experienced multiple closures and re-openings throughout the morning of September 25th. Danish police have stated they have been unable to trace the operators of these drones, which were observed over military installations housing F-16 and F-35 fighter jets, as previously reported.
