People's Defense Force (PDF) resistance fighters captured and burned down a junta police station in Montaung village, Minbu township, Magway region, Myanmar, according to a report by Thomas V. Linge on X during the reporting window from 8:15 PM to 9:15 PM UTC on January 30, 2026. The area had seen low resistance activity over the past five years. This development occurred over the past hour amid ongoing conflict between resistance groups and the military junta. Previously, on January 30 during the 5:45 PM to 6:45 PM UTC window, the junta extended its state of emergency in 63 resistance-controlled townships for 90 days, according to Irrawaddy News.
