The National Weather Service in Los Angeles issued Flash Flood Warnings for Glendale, Pasadena, Thousand Oaks, Castaic, Gorman, Fillmore, Ojai and Mira Monte, California, until 12:00 p.m. PST on December 24, 2025, according to X posts shared between 2:15 p.m. and 4:16 p.m. UTC. These warnings cover additional areas beyond earlier alerts for San Buenaventura, Moorpark and Santa Paula issued earlier in the day by the same agency, as heavy rainfall from an intensifying atmospheric river continues to threaten Southern California, per previous National Weather Service updates. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was also issued for Santa Clarita, Thousand Oaks and Simi Valley until 8:30 a.m. PST, according to an NWS Los Angeles X post during the two-hour reporting window. In Northern California, more than 100 reports of wind damage and gusts were recorded across the Bay Area this morning, with the highest gust of 108 mph measured in Marin County at Pablo Point north of San Francisco, as reported by ABC7 meteorologist Drew Tuma and Collin Gross on X within the period. The Flash Flood Warnings follow a rare high risk for excessive rainfall declared earlier by meteorologist Brian Emfinger due to the atmospheric river impacting the region on Christmas Eve.
