Jake Mitchell Haro, 32, and Rebecca Renee Haro, 41, were arrested yesterday, August 22, 2025, in Cabazon, California, on suspicion of murder in the death of their seven-month-old son, Emmanuel Haro. Investigators believe the infant is deceased, and the search for his remains is ongoing. The arrests followed an investigation that began on August 14, 2025, as a reported kidnapping at a Big 5 store in Yucaipa. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department determined through interviews, search warrants, and evidence analysis that a kidnapping did not occur. Both Jake and Rebecca Haro were booked into a Riverside County jail without bail. San Bernardino County Sheriff Shannon Dicus stated, “The circumstances surrounding this investigation are tragic and we will continue to search for Emmanuel.” He thanked various agencies and the community for their attention to the case, expressing trust that the justice system will hold the parents accountable.
