Alejandro Zunca, a 67-year-old man, was charged with impersonating a police officer after being stopped by Montgomery County Police in Silver Spring last Friday. Zunca was found in possession of a Baltimore City Police Department badge, a replica gun, and a homemade police uniform, according to MCPD 3rd District Commander Jason Cokinos. In addition to the misdemeanor charge of impersonating a police officer, Zunca received several citations for traffic violations, including driving with illegal blue lights. The incident occurred on New Hampshire Avenue at East Shaw Avenue. Zunca is scheduled to appear in court on October 16th, as indicated by Maryland court documents. Montgomery County Police, an actual Maryland credited law enforcement agency, conducted the traffic stop. The discovery of the police paraphernalia led to the charges against Zunca.
