Sogand Pakdel, a trans woman, was shot dead today by her uncle in Fars Province, Iran, in an act motivated by transphobia. This incident is the latest in a pattern of violence against the LGBTQ community in Iran, which the government is accused of perpetuating. Separately, a one-hour clash occurred near the village of Agllan, Sardasht, between forces of a Kurdish opposition group and the Pasdaran (IRGC). Some reports indicate the IRGC base in the village was targeted. Numerous ambulances and military convoys were dispatched to the scene after the fighting subsided, according to local accounts. Additionally, the Kurdish opposition group PJAK released a video showing the killing of an IRGC colonel in Baneh, western Iran, a few days ago.
