Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani stated this morning, following a visit to Duhok, that authorities must enforce rules and impose penalties on polluters, emphasizing that the desecration of the region's land is unacceptable. Barzani's remarks come as preparations are underway to resume oil exports from the Kurdistan Region, which had been halted, according to previous reports. Barzani's comments were made after his visit to Duhok, where he underlined the necessity of stringent enforcement against environmental pollution. He specifically mentioned that the land, "watered with the blood of our martyrs, to be desecrated,” highlighting the gravity with which the regional government views the issue. Amer Khalil, CEO of North Oil Company, had announced yesterday that Kurdistan Region's oil exports were anticipated to resume within 48 hours. While specific timing and volume details were not immediately available, the preparations suggest a move towards resolving the issues that caused the previous suspension of oil shipments.
