An elderly Palestinian man, identified as 62-year-old Fadel Eid Salma Abu Halib, was killed by an Israeli quadcopter drone strike in the Al-Qarara area, northeast of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip, Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital announced this morning between 8:34 AM and 9:05 AM UTC. The area of Jabalia also saw widespread destruction, with residents returning to find the Al-Ghabari area in ruins. The drone strike occurred in the Al-Qarara area, northeast of Khan Yunis, according to reporting from AJEnglish, which also cited Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital. The extent of devastation in Jabalia was highlighted by the Al-Ghabari area being described as reduced to dust and destruction. These events follow a U.S.-brokered ceasefire that began on October 10th, 2025, which includes a 72-hour period for hostage release. Previous reports indicated Hamas security forces were conducting operations against individuals accused of collaboration within Gaza during the ceasefire period. Additionally, tens of thousands of displaced Palestinians have begun returning to northern Gaza as Israeli forces have partially withdrawn under the initial phase of a peace deal.
