Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces extracted an Israeli woman from Jericho in the West Bank who claimed to have been kidnapped, a short while ago on December 19, 2025, according to an IDF statement reported by journalist Manny Fabian on X. Upon receiving the report of the suspected kidnapping during the afternoon reporting window from 3:16 PM to 6:16 PM UTC, the IDF dispatched troops to the scene to search for the woman, the statement said. The Civil Administration, part of the Defense Ministry's Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), coordinated with PA security forces, who located the woman, extracted and protected her, and transferred her to Israeli forces without casualties. The woman will be questioned by Israeli authorities regarding her kidnapping claims, the IDF said. Israelis are barred by law from entering West Bank areas under PA control. In a separate development during the same period, U.S. Secretary Rubio stated that disarmament of Hamas should focus on weaponries or capabilities needed to threaten or attack Israel as a baseline, according to a question posed to him by journalist Elizabeth Hagedorn on X.
