Approximately 171 participants from the Hamas-Sumud flotilla, including Greta Thunberg, were deported from Israel to Greece and Slovakia on October 6th, 2025, according to the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). The deportees, citizens of multiple European nations and the United States, were escorted from Ketsiyot Prison, with the MFA stating that their legal rights were upheld and accusing them of spreading misinformation. The deportation occurred following an incident where a flotilla participant allegedly bit a female medical staff member at Ketsiyot Prison, an event the MFA described as the "only violent incident." The MFA also released photos of Thunberg and other participants at the airport prior to their deportation, characterizing the flotilla as a "PR stunt." A Greek government-issued aircraft departed Ramon Airport for Athens carrying 27 participants, including Greta Thunberg, at approximately 12:04 PM UTC on October 6th, 2025, as previously reported. This departure marked Thunberg's second visit to Israel. The flight was arranged by the Greek government to facilitate the return of flotilla participants who had been in Gaza. Earlier on October 6th, 2025, Israeli troops in Gaza City dismantled stockpiles of long-range rockets, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced. The IDF stated that the rockets were safely neutralized and that troops also discovered caches of weapons and military equipment prepared for an attack on central Israel.
