The bodies of two Israeli hostages, Idan Shtivi and Ilan Weiss, were recovered in a joint operation by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Israel Security Agency (ISA) in Gaza. Shtivi, 28, who was held for 693 days, was kidnapped by Hamas terrorists from the Tel Gama area in southern Israel. The operation occurred on August 30th, as confirmed by the IDF. The IDF stated that Idan Shtivi acted bravely to help evacuate and save others during the Nova music festival on October 7, 2023. The recovery of the bodies marks a significant development amid ongoing military operations in the region. Reports from an Al-Hadath correspondent indicate that Israeli operations are continuing to push Gazan populations towards the south and west, suggesting ongoing displacement efforts. Meanwhile, official statements from Avichay Adraee condemned "the scum of nations," referencing ongoing conflict dynamics. The Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, has also released content related to their operations, including a piece titled "The Master of Martyrs."
