The two arrested terrorists were transferred to the ISA for further investigation. These actions took place in Qalqilya, a city in the northern West Bank. In separate developments, Benny Gantz, speaking at a conference at Reichman University, addressed accusations of neglecting the land army in recent years prior to October 7th. He stated that there is a narrative aiming to create a "virtual reality" of the defense establishment's failures. Gantz recounted a conversation with Prime Minister Netanyahu where Netanyahu inquired about the army's maneuverability in Gaza, and Gantz, along with others, confirmed their capability. Additionally, Gantz intends to champion the views of Yitzhak Brick and Guy Hazarim, who have written about the neglect of the land army. Gantz, who previously served as chief of staff and defense minister for seven years in the 12 years preceding October 7th, has until now avoided detailed commentary on the IDF's power-building issues, which could become a significant point in a state investigative committee.
