Members of an ultra-Orthodox cult led by Rabbi Eliezer Berland rammed their car into a Palestinian in Nablus overnight into December 19, 2025, while attempting to reach Joseph’s Tomb, moderately injuring him before abandoning the vehicle and fleeing on foot, the IDF reported in a statement shared this morning. The IDF said several suspects were detained by troops in the area and handed over to police. Palestinian authorities seized the vehicle, which will soon be transferred to the Civil Administration, according to the military. The incident follows an earlier report this morning by journalist Itay Blumental stating that Breslav followers illegally entered Joseph’s Tomb, clashed with Palestinians, and ran over a Palestinian man, breaking both his legs; some involved were arrested by Israeli police for questioning.
