France is considering opening an embassy in Ramallah, according to Emmanuel Macron’s Middle East advisor Ofer Bronchtein, who spoke to [@almagor_tomer](https://twitter.com/almagor_tomer) this morning. Bronchtein stated that a stable Palestinian state is in Israel’s interest and that the October 7 massacre "would not have happened if there had been a Palestinian state." Bronchtein also indicated that France is attempting to prevent Israel from entering Gaza City and escalating the situation, anticipating strong international resistance and hoping to avoid sanctions. The potential embassy move follows France's recognition of a Palestinian state, which is reportedly planned for next month. In other developments, the Global Sumud flotilla is planning to launch 50 ships toward Gaza on August 31 with the aim of breaking Israel's blockade. The flotilla is expected to consist of "dozens of civilian vessels," and the Israeli Navy anticipates this operation will be more complex than previous attempts. Separately, two bodies were rescued from a strip designated for testing, according to a report from "חדשות בטחון מהשטח ללא צנזורה."
