Seven Israeli hostages, including Eitan Mor, Gali and Ziv Berman, Matan Angrest, Omri Miran, Guy Gilboa-Dalal, and Alon Ohel, were transferred to the Red Cross and subsequently to IDF forces within the Gaza Strip between 5:05 AM and 6:05 AM UTC on October 13th, 2025. All released hostages are reported to be in good condition and on their feet, according to multiple reports from Hebrew media and social media accounts. The Red Cross confirmed it has started a multi-phase operation to facilitate the release and transfer of hostages and detainees as part of a ceasefire agreement. The handover from Hamas to the Red Cross occurred in a closed location without media presence, as reported by Al-Arabi TV. The IDF has completed preparations to receive the returning hostages, with air force helicopters documented en route to absorption centers for initial medical and psychological evaluations. Reports indicate that the second batch of hostages is expected to be released in approximately one and a half hours. The Al-Qassam Brigades issued a statement pledging that the cause of "free prisoners" will remain a top national priority. Meanwhile, Egyptian President A-Sisi decided to award President Donald Trump the decoration of the Nile Order, the highest decoration in Egypt, in recognition of his role in ending the war in Gaza. Trump is currently en route to Israel and previously stated that the Gaza peace deal "could be the biggest thing I was ever involved in."
