A small Israeli military surveillance drone crashed in the Rimal neighborhood of Gaza City this morning following a technical malfunction, according to Palestinian media and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). The IDF stated the Skylark 3 model was on a reconnaissance mission when it made an "emergency landing in the northern Gaza Strip." The military also confirmed there is no fear of information leaking from the device. The IDF's Artillery Corps operates the Skylark drone, which is a tactical surveillance UAV manufactured by Elbit Systems. The crash occurred this morning. The IDF has not provided data on the scope of unexploded ordnance in the Gaza Strip, which is considered confidential information. Separately, a video published by Islamic Jihad in the last day reportedly shows the group's capabilities in Gaza. The video depicts Islamic Jihad members retrieving an unexploded IDF armament, extracting its explosive material, and using it to assemble improvised cargo with a remote operating mechanism. This improvised device was then detonated on a tank. According to the report, the explosive used in the video appears to be a Soviet-era artillery shell, though terrorists in Gaza also utilize unexploded bombs from the Air Force and various types of IDF arms. It is estimated that terrorist organizations in Gaza have acquired thousands of unexploded arms and have employed them against IDF forces multiple times in recent months. In unrelated news, a 20-year-old individual who arrived from Gaza died after being hospitalized in Pisa, Italy, as reported by ANSA.
