Israeli Defense Forces combat engineers demolished a four-kilometer-long Hamas tunnel in the southern Gaza Strip, completing work that began a year ago in recent days, the military said in a statement reported over the past hour. The tunnel contained weapons and featured several rooms for operatives to reside, according to the IDF as reported by Mannie Fabian on X. Demolition efforts concluded recently, the army confirmed. Following last week's exchange of fire in Rafah that killed six gunmen, IDF troops located military gear, bomb-making instructional booklets, and at least one explosive device in the area, the military stated. At another location, troops found five disused rocket launchers, the IDF reported.
