Further reports during this time stated that IDF tanks have been seen entering Gaza City. These developments follow previous reports of an IDF division entering Gaza City between 7:03 PM and 7:17 PM UTC, accompanied by intense air attacks described as "fire belts" in the western part of the city. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio previously stated on September 15th that Hamas are "agents of terror and barbarism," and that peace is impossible as long as the group exists. A Trump administration official also denied claims that President Trump was warned of a planned Israeli operation targeting Hamas leaders in Qatar, labeling such accusations as "false" in a statement made between 6:18 PM and 6:49 PM UTC on September 15th. Previous reports also mentioned that Hamas continues to hold 48 hostages and use civilians as human shields.
