United Arab Emirates Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed will caution Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu against annexing parts of the occupied West Bank and warn that such actions could jeopardize the Abraham Accords during their meeting in New York this evening, September 26th, 2025. The UAE minister will also brief Netanyahu on former President Donald Trump's plan for ending the war in Gaza and securing hostage releases, emphasizing it as a historic opportunity for the region, according to a senior Emirati official. The Emirati official stated that Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed will reaffirm the UAE's commitment to the Abraham Accords as a foundation for regional progress and express grave concerns over recent developments threatening a two-state solution. The minister will specifically caution against dangerous steps, such as the "blatant attack on Qatar" and annexation, which could imperil the accords. He will also stress the urgent necessity of scaling up humanitarian aid to Gaza to ensure vital assistance reaches civilians effectively. This meeting comes amid ongoing efforts to resolve the conflict in Gaza. Previously obtained reports detailed former President Trump's 21-point plan for a Gaza ceasefire, which includes ending Hamas rule, exchanging Palestinian prisoners for Israeli withdrawal, and amnesty for Hamas leaders who agree to exile. The plan also calls for the closure of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation and unrestricted humanitarian aid entry, with governance of Gaza to be managed by a Palestinian committee selected by the Palestinian Authority, supported by an Arab-international body. Separately, earlier reports from September 26th indicated that Israeli forces had advanced in Gaza City, taking control of the Tal Al-Hawa neighborhood and pushing towards Al-Remal and Al-Shati neighborhoods, while also continuing bombardment of the Al-Shati refugee camp.
