The bodies of two Israeli hostages, Idan Shtivi and Ilan Weiss, were recovered in a joint operation by the IDF and ISA in Gaza, officials confirmed yesterday. Shtivi, 28, was kidnapped by Hamas terrorists from the Tel Gama area on October 7, 2023, and was recognized for his bravery in helping others evacuate the Nova music festival. The operation involved IDF forces from the Southern Command and specialized units. Following identification procedures at the National Forensic Medicine Center, the families of the recovered hostages were notified. The IDF stated that Shtivi was brutally murdered by Hamas after being kidnapped. Separately, a residential building near the Thai junction in west Gaza City was targeted in an Israeli bombing, resulting in the deaths of Youssef Majdi Al-Kahlout and Shams Majdi Al-Kahlout, according to Alhadath correspondent reports. Medical services reported a total of 7 martyrs and 25 injured from this strike. In another incident, reserve fighter Ariel Lubiner was killed in a friendly fire incident around 11 PM yesterday during a logistical convoy operation in Khan Yunis. An initial investigation suggests an unintentional ball emission. The event is still under investigation. The Al-Qassam Brigades have published images of individuals they claim are martyrs, including Muhammad Al-Dhaif and Marwan Issa. Hamas has also reportedly released new documentation related to its leadership, including Issa, Henia, and Sinwar.
