Israeli security forces on Sunday thwarted an attempt by a group of Israeli families to establish an unauthorized settlement in the Syrian Golan Heights. IDF forces from Division 210 intercepted the group, who had crossed the border fence, and returned them for police investigation. The families, originating from Samaria, aimed to establish a settlement named "Neve Hashan" in the Syrian Golan Heights. Organizers stated this was an independent initiative without external support, though they expressed hope for future backing. The group, identifying as "pioneers of the sleep," reportedly intended to remain in the area long-term, bringing their children with them. The IDF's swift intervention prevented the establishment of the outpost.
