The attack represents a violation of the truce in the Walgha axis, west of the governorate, as rebel factions targeted security force positions. The Internal Security Forces engaged the sources of fire in response. This incident occurred within the reporting window of 8:37 PM to 9:37 PM UTC on October 8th, 2025. Previous reports from October 8th indicated that nearly 400 personnel from Syria's Security and Defense Ministry were killed in conflict in Suwayda, with the fate of approximately 50 remaining unknown. Additionally, about 20 members of the Security and Defense Ministry were arrested by Damascus for violations, while tribes in Suwayda held 55 people and roughly 300 individuals were reportedly detained by factions within As-Suwayda.
