Ongoing clashes between Druze factions in Suwayda, Syria, have resulted in several deaths, including Ismaël al-Atrach, a commander in the pro-Assad Syrian National Socialist Party, who was killed by direct bullets yesterday evening. The house of Suhail Al-Saloum, a security official for Hikmat Al-Hijri, was also targeted amidst the escalating violence. Al-Atrash, identified as a prominent former security figure in the “Fourth Eagles” militia, was killed as he was leaving one of the headquarters of Hikmat al-Hijri groups in Suwayda city. Reports indicate civilian casualties are a result of the ongoing clashes, the precise reasons for which remain undefined. The security tension is seen as potentially reopening power struggles within remnants of the regime and its local affiliates. These clashes resumed yesterday evening, with reports detailing violence between Druze factions. The targeting of Al-Saloum's house and the death of Al-Atrash underscore the persistent instability in the region. In a separate development, in the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood, the music group Koma Ari released a cover of a Kurdish song promoting peace and coexistence. This release occurs amid lingering tensions following clashes between the STG and Kurdish ISF in the area last week.
