Russia launched a massive combined air strike on Ukraine overnight, deploying hundreds of drones and missiles targeting civilian and energy infrastructure, according to Ukrainian officials. In response, Ukrainian drones struck Russia's Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery in the Rostov region and caused explosions in the Voronezh region, with some villages losing power. The strikes on Ukraine resulted in injuries, with one missile hitting an American-owned enterprise in Zakarpattia. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that 574 strike drones and 40 missiles were launched against Ukraine overnight, hitting civilian infrastructure and residential buildings. He emphasized that a significant portion was intercepted but not all. Zelensky noted that the attack on the American-owned enterprise, a civilian business producing everyday items, was "very telling" and highlighted the lack of signals from Moscow for substantive negotiations. Andrii Sybiha, Ukraine's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, confirmed the overnight strikes on civilian and energy infrastructure, including a major American electronics manufacturer in the westernmost region, which sustained serious damage and casualties. He reiterated Ukraine's willingness to make every effort to bring peace closer and stressed the importance of diplomatic formats and robust security guarantees from partners, as well as the urgent need for additional air defense systems. Separately, Ukraine has developed new FP-5 "Flamingo" missiles with a claimed range of 3,000 km, with one missile reportedly produced daily. These missiles are said to have a payload capacity of up to 1,150 kg and can land within 14 meters of a target. Additionally, a Bayraktar-TB2 drone destroyed a Russian fast boat on the occupied left bank of Kherson. First Lady Olena Zelenska reported that 44% of children in Ukraine show signs of PTSD, including repeated memories or nightmares, increased anxiety, irritability, sleep problems, concentration difficulties, and avoidance of trauma-related situations. Russia's Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery continued to burn this morning, with a large black smoke plume visible for dozens of kilometers, according to reports.
