An entire family, including a pregnant mother, was killed by a Russian drone strike on their home in Chernetchyna, Sumy region, on the night of September 30th. Rescuers recovered the bodies of the parents and their two young sons from the rubble of their destroyed home. The mother was reportedly pregnant with twins. The Lesnichenko family had sought refuge in their native village of Chernetchyna due to ongoing shelling. According to a report on X, their house was left without a roof or walls following the overnight strike. Images showed children's clothing hanging in the yard, apparently prepared for the arrival of the twins. This incident occurred amidst broader reports of air defense activity and drone movements in Ukraine. Earlier on September 30th, air defense alerts were active in Dnipro, with reports of drone activity. A Ukrainian Antonov An-124 heavy airlifter also landed in Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport, loaded a shipping container, and departed, following Ukrainian President Zelensky's confirmation of Israel supplying PATRIOT air-defense systems to Ukraine.
