The United States State Department announced this morning it has approved a $8.5 billion Foreign Military Sales case for Denmark, which includes six Patriot air defense systems. The U.S. also approved over $300 million in arms sales to Ukraine to support Patriot systems and Starlink services, according to Ukraine's Defense Minister Shmyhal. The approved sale to Denmark includes 20 PAC-3 MSE missiles, 36 PAC-2 GEM-T missiles, two AN/MPQ-65 Radar Sets, six PATRIOT M903A2 launching stations, and related equipment and services. The State Department also approved the sale of equipment to support the Patriot air defense system for Ukraine for an estimated cost of $179.1 million, as well as Starlink satellite communication services and related equipment for $150 million. Ukrainian officials stated that Patriot air defense systems are vital for protecting their people, cities, and critical infrastructure from continuous Russian air attacks. The funding for Starlink is intended to support the purchase and maintenance of the satellite communication service. In a separate development, former Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada and ex-Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Andriy Parubiy has been shot dead in Lviv.
