The Ukrainian hacker group 256 Cyber Assault Division, in cooperation with InformNapalm, uncovered a weapons smuggling operation by officers of Russia's 291st Guards Motor Rifle Regiment and Vostok-Akhmat battalion, routing arms from combat zones through occupied Crimea to black markets in Russia, Europe, Western Asia, and Africa via shadow tankers, according to a StratcomCentre report on X between 11:16 p.m. UTC on January 10 and 12:15 a.m. UTC on January 11, 2026. Hackers accessed accounts of Major Yevgeny Dmitriev, platoon commander of the 'Storm V' assault company in the 291st Regiment operating in Zaporizhia direction, exposing cooperation with Kadyrovite forces in illegal arms sales, StratcomCentre stated. Using social engineering, the hackers posed as Dmitriev to deceive administrators of the Russian 'Two Majors' fundraising group, redirecting funds intended for the 291st Regiment to Ukraine's Special Operations Forces. In Kharkiv, an enemy 'Molniya' UAV struck an infrastructure object in the Slobid district, with all relevant services responding on site, as reported by the Kharkiv Life Telegram channel during the same 58-minute period.
