Russian forces continued aerial activity across Ukraine between 4:35 AM and 5:05 AM UTC on September 20th, with Ukrainian monitoring channels reporting multiple unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and "mopeds" in various regions. The "Николаевский Ванёк" monitoring channel reported two UAVs south of Chernihiv and three new "shots" flying towards Chernihiv during this period. The "Тривога INFO ⚠️ Новини" channel provided information on the "oriented route and UAV during the night attack of the Russian Federation." This latest period of activity follows a wider night of Russian missile and drone strikes impacting multiple Ukrainian regions, including Dnipro, Kyiv, Ternopil, and Khmelnytskyi. Previous reports from earlier this morning detailed a rocket strike on a residential multi-storey building in Dnipro. The Air Force of Ukraine had also reported UAVs moving west in the center of Chernihiv region and towards Shostka in the north of Sumy region. During the preceding hour, the Air Force of Ukraine had confirmed winged rockets in the north of Ternopil region heading west, and in the south of Vinnytsia region heading northwest. Monitoring channels reported cruise missiles in the north of Odesa region heading towards Vinnytsia, and other groups moving through Khmelnytskyi region towards Ternopil/Frankivsk region. Reports also indicated rockets targeting Dnipro from the east, with "ХДніпро 🇺🇦" reporting a launch accompanied by media. Earlier on September 20th, Russia had launched ballistic missiles at Pavlograd and Mykolaiv. Separately, on September 19th, the Estonian General Staff reported three Russian MiG-31s violating Estonian airspace. The Institute for the Study of War assesses these incursions as attempts to gauge NATO capabilities.
