Residents in several Polish voivodeships and northern Romania have received air attack warnings within the past hour, with alarm sirens activated in Świdnik, Poland, due to the threat of aerial attacks. The alerts, issued by Poland's Rapid Response Centre (RCB) and through RO-Alert messages in Romania, advise caution and adherence to official instructions. The situation follows reports of Russian one-way attack drones operating near Polish and Romanian airspace. In Poland, the RCB alert was sent to recipients in the Chełm, Chełm, Krasnostawski, Łęczyński, Świdnicki, and Włodawski poviats in the Lubelskie Voivodeship, warning of an "attack from the air." The Mayor of Świdnik confirmed the activation of warning sirens in the city in connection with the air threat. Meanwhile, in northern Romania, specifically in Tulcea, a RO-Alert message warned the population of the risk of falling objects in the airspace, reportedly due to the possibility of Russian one-way attack drones landing in Romania. These developments come as Polish and NATO fighter aircraft were previously scrambled and ground-based air defenses were raised to their highest readiness due to drone activity over western Ukraine near Polish airspace. Lublin Airport in eastern Poland remains closed due to "unplanned military activity related to ensuring state security." While monitors suggest a Russian drone is still flying over Romanian territory, there is no official confirmation from the Romanian Armed Forces at this time.
