The humanitarian situation in El Fasher has escalated, with over 260,000 people trapped without access to aid, according to the World Health Organization (WHO) and the UN in Sudan. A request for a humanitarian corridor to deliver lifesaving supplies is still pending. The city has been under siege for over 500 days, exacerbating the dire conditions for its trapped population. The WHO reported that 35 health facilities have been destroyed, contributing to a severe public health crisis. Further underscoring the severity of the crisis, there are 5,000 suspected cholera cases, resulting in 98 deaths. Additionally, 130,000 children are suffering from malnutrition, as stated by the WHO's Sudan mission via their official social media account on X (formerly Twitter).
